How Rare is this Piece of History? – What a totally UNIQUE FIND…Not only is it rare to find any of the Beatles Indian 78 RPM Pressings – Have you ever seen a **PROMOTIONAL ONLY** Indian 78 before? – In all our years as a Beatles Specialist this is the first time that we have had the privilege to have one in stock - The wording ‘SAMPLE RECORD NOT FOR SALE’ is Stamped on both sides of the record labels!.
‘She Loves You’ was Issued some 40 years ago back in 1963 as a Single in both the UK and India and reached the No 1 position in the UK Charts! This 78 RPM is on the Official RED with SILVER Parlophone Label, featuring the ‘PARLOPHONE Company Ltd’ label Rim text, and with ‘Recording First published 1963’ label text and the wording ‘Made in India’ on both sides of the record label. Although faded, the official wording ‘Sample Record Not For Sale’ is stamped on both sides of the record labels. The official side 1 stamped matrix reads ‘CE 17395 - 1NT ITI’ and the side 2 matrix reads ‘CE 17396’- 1NT 1T1’. The official side 1 early stampers are: ‘1’, ‘G’ and the side 2 stampers: ‘1’, ‘G’. (Please note that this is a **very 1st Pressing** with The Parlophone Co Ltd label text released in 1963. All subsequent Indian pressings of ‘She Loves You’, featured the Gramophone Co Ltd label text and these were issued again in 1965).
As you will see from the detailed scans provided, the Indian 78 comes in an official and totally unique Pink & Brown Printed Parlophone 78 RPM Sleeve.
Now turning to the grading – both sides of the REMARKABLE Red and Silver Parlophone Record labels are in very clean condition, the labels are bright, showing some light spider marks and minimal wear (see relevant scan). Both sides of the Shellac 78 rpm disc show many light surface scratches on both sides – but no chips, nor cracks to any part of this shellac. Visually the shellac looks worn. The original Brown Printed Parlophone bag is also in overall clean condition – showing some wear a little tearing to the top and corners, however, no handwriting to any part of this Rare sleeve.
It is very rare for Beatles Indian 78s to come into stock , and we can honestly say that we have never had a PROMOTIONAL example in stock before! – one can only speculate how many exist around the world today – very very few indeed! What more can we say, we have handled many Rare Beatles items over the years, but we always get a THRILL when something like this comes into stock! The lucky buyer will be absolutely overjoyed to own this very early ULTRA RARE item – a true conversational piece to any Beatles collection, it is a totally UNIQUE FIND and will take its place in the history books! – not to be missed, as it is not expected back into stock again!
