'RUBBER SOUL'

1969 UK 3rd PRESS **MONO** LP

*WITHOUT 'SOLD IN UK..' TEXT*

Included in my current listings are a selection of rare stereo and even rarer mono 1969 UK yellow and black Parlophone pressings.
This final incarnation of the iconic label was available for just a few months before the switch to the black and silver 'One EMI Box' design.
These late variants omit the 'Sold in U.K...' label text which was removed from all EMI product from August 1969.

This rare 1969 third MONO pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label PMC 1267
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but still carry 'Gramophone Co Ltd...' rims
There is no tax/price code visible on either label.
Housed in a front laminated, flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse cover
Complete with original EMI advertising inner sleeve.

Matrix numbers: XEX 579-5 & XEX 580-5
Stamper numbers: 2/GT & 2/AG

Visual: EXCELLENT

Extremely clean and bright surfaces bearing just one 2cm light scuff on side 2, and a very light, non-feelable 2cm scratch on side one.
Apart from a few sleeve removal marks visible only under direct light, there are no other visual faults.
100% flat on the turntable without dishing or warping.

Audio: NEAR MINT

The refined and uncompressed '-5' cut sounds warm, rich and clear and plays totally without any groovewear/loud passage distortion.
There are no clicks, pops, jumps or repeats or other traces of audible wear.


Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS

A bright and clean front panel displaying a few light creases and some wear to the opening edge, but no major faults.
The rear panel is clean with some minor areas of discolouration but no writing.
The spine is square, intact and readable and all seams are strong and unsplit.
