Description

This is a beautiful 1st UK Stereo Pressing of the Beatles landmark "Revolver" LP.  It is on the Parlophone yellow and black label, and bears the catalogue number PCS 7009.  The matrices in the trail-off read YEX 605-1 on Side A, and YEX 606-1 on Side B, indicating a 1st Pressing.  The stamper code is 3AP on side 1 and 3PP on side 2.  On side 2, track 4 reads "Doctor Robert" instead of "Dr. Robert," a misprint that was corrected on all subsequent pressings.  The label is stamped with the "K T" tax code indicating that it was sold in the United Kingdom.  The cover is the tri-foldback, laminated front produced by Garrod & Lofthouse, and reads "Patent Pending" on the bottom right foldback.  This copy retains a very clean and crisp original inner sleeve.  The 1st Stereo Pressings are considered to be even more rare than the Mono, because most were not stocked in stores, but special ordered, as stereo Hi-Fis were still somewhat of a novelty at the time of "Revolver's" release.
This copy is an EX+ LP in an EX+ Inner Sleeve and a VG+ Cover.  The LP is bright and glossy, with just the tiniest bit of sleeve wear.  I really only noticed it in bright sunlight.  Plays beautifully with barely any surface noise, even between the tracks.  Lays flat on the turntable and shows no signs of warping whatsoever.  The labels look remarkably good, with a few very faint spindle marks.  The inner sleeve is in great shape with absolutely no hint of splitting at the edges.  It has "Patent Applied For" in the bottom left, and "Made in Great Britain" in the bottom right.  The cover is bright and white with a bit of age toning on the rear around the foldbacks.  There is a very, very light crease in the bottom right corner and some minor edgewear to the bottom left corner.  The seam that bears the album title is crisp and bright.  There is no writing anywhere on the labels, inner sleeve, or cover.  Overall, this is an absolutely beautiful copy of this very scarce LP.
