RARE STEREO FIRST PRESSING, IMPRESSIVE RECORD LABELS AND VINYL DISC, NEAR MINT STEREO SLEEVE
Summary:
‘Rubber Soul’, released by EMI/Parlophone UK on 3 December 1965, was The Beatles Sixth Official UK Album. It was the first Beatles album to include all four composers, and the last time that The Beatles released two albums of new material within one year. The title 'Rubber Soul' came from a title that black musicians had for The Rolling Stones, which Paul then parodied from the original ‘Plastic Soul’ to ‘Rubber Soul’.
This is a Rarer STEREO version for The Beatles 1965 FIRST PRESSING UK Parlophone VINYL LP, ‘RUBBER SOUL’. Both sides of the Record Labels and Vinyl Disc are in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus/near mint condition, and the Original 1st Issue Stereo Sleeve is BEAUTIFULLY PRESERVED – A NICE example!
Album Description/Condition:
The ORIGINAL UK First Issue HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl LP on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK….’ , and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ label text, and printed ‘STEREO’ to both sides.
The Side 1 record label is in SUPERB near mint condition, NEW LOOKING record label, showing just a couple of faint spider trails. The side 2 record label is in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition, again CLEAN and BRIGHT, showing a few more centre spider trails than side 1. The Silver printed text to both record labels is UNFADED, and the Yellow Parlophone Print and logo BOLD and VIVID.
Side 1 of the Heavyweight vinyl disc is in SUPERB near mint condition. BRIGHT, UNWORN vinyl with no more than a few light surface hairlines. Side 2 of the Vinyl disc is in excellent plus condition, again BRIGHT, GLEAMING Vinyl showing a few faint surface hairlines, and a small light scuff running across tracks 4 and 5.
Side 1 matrix YEX 178-2 and Side 2: YEX 179-2.
Side 1 stampers: 1/R and Side 2: 3/GL.
There is a ‘KT’ tax code stamped to the centre of the side 1 record label.
Audio Quality:
The album plays EXTREMELY WELL through the tracks. There are NO skips or clicks. The light scuff mark running across tracks 4 and 5 produces a very light hiss.
The album comes in an ORIGINAL lined ‘Use Emitex….’ Printed Inner Bag which is in excellent plus condition. A FINE example with NO seam splits or handwriting, just some light inevitable creasing
……And is housed in a STUNNING, ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED STEREO FIRST ISSUE Garrod and Lofthouse, three flip back sleeve, printed ‘stereo’ to the top right hand corner of the reverse of the sleeve.
The sleeve is in IMPRESSIVE near mint condition. A FIRM and CLEAN sleeve, the laminate ULTRA GLOSSY, with only very mild record indentation to the front panel, and mild bruising to the top left hand corner – very minor. The back panel of the sleeve is BRIGHT, STRONG and CLEAN, with just a mild scratch to the back panel around the image of Ringo - nothing serious. All three flip backs are UNDAMAGED. The spine edge is FIRM and clearly reads ‘Rubber Soul, The Beatles’.
FIRST PRESSINGS of this EARLY Beatles UK STEREO Album are becoming HARDER TO FIND in this all round IMPRESSIVE condition – A FINE EXAMPLE!!
