THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
1963 UK **3rd STEREO** PRESSING LP
**NO 'RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED..TEXT**
Although technically a 'third' pressing, side two of this disc carries a '1/G 'mother'/stamper code making it one of the first few hundred ever pressed.
This early pressing is housed in the same cover-type as the black & gold pressings with the photographer's credit in the extreme right-hand coner.
This extremely rare 1963 3rd stereo pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3042
Both labels omit the 'Recording First Published..' and 'Sold in UK..' texts but carry 'Parlophone Co Ltd...' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in a correct, front laminated, flipback 'E.J. Day' stereo cover with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the extreme lower right corner.
Complete with original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1
Stamper numbers: 1/P & 1/G
Labels: EXCELLENT MINUS
Some wear to the centre holes but no writing or 'touch-up'.
Visual: VERY GOOD MINUS
Played many times the surfaces bear many light sleeve removal hairlines with some surface marks and the occaisional hairline scratch.
There are no large scuffs or deep marks, and the very thick, heavy vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable without dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD
Although this disc has played many times, the sound is overall bright and clean without any major audible wear.
Some light crackle is audible between tracks and during the few quiet passages but there is no major signs of groovewear distortion.
The occasional soft 'tick' can be heard but no there are no heavy clicks, hiss, jumps or repeats aynwhere.
Cover: GOOD
This rare and early cover display moderate handling and storagewear but no major faults.
The front panel is bright and clean with some wrinkles creases to the edges and front panel but no heavy creases.
The left corners especially have some damage but the opening edges are clean, sharp with light wear only.
The rear panel is discoloured with two small stains but no writing or missing paper.
There is some damage to the rear flipback corners but all the seams are strong, unstresed and unsplit.
The spine has some minor wear but is clean and readable with no missing paper or laminate.
