THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
1963 UK *3rd PRESSING* MONO LP
***1st EDITION Y & B LABEL WITH EXTRA 33 1/3**
This first true yellow & black label issue was available for just a few weeks, and is without doubt rarer than gold & black labels mono pressings.
This extremely rare 1963 early mono pressing is on the first version UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both labels include the small '33 1/3' figure at the 9 o' clock position and 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' and the 'Recording First Published..' texts.
There is no tax/price code is visible on either label.
Housed in the correct front laminated, tri-flipback 'E.J. Day' cover, with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the extreme right-hand corner.
Complete with original poly-lined 'Use Emitex' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper numbers: 2/PR & 1/RR
Labels: EXCELLENT MINUS
Light spindle trails but no writing and 'honest' centre holes with no black ink applied.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Frequently but carefully handled, the surfaces are clean and bright and retain a respectable gloss finish.
There are some fingernail scuffs and light scratches visible but no deep or 'feelable' marks or scratches.
Very thick heavy vinyl which lies 100% flat on both sides with no dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD PLUS
Despite being played often, there is little lessening to the sound quality, just slight intermittant wear to some extreme peaks.
There are few audible ticks between some tracks but no heavy groovewear distortion is present and there are no loud clicks, jumps or repeats.
Cover: VERY GOOD
A correct, early example with a bright and clean front panel displaying some minor laminate wrinkles but no heavy creases or 'thumbnails'.
The corners bear some storagewear but the opening edges are clean and sharp both sides without any tears or 'feathering'.
The rear panel has a stain to the lower right coner and some normal handling & storage wear but no writing or missing paper.
There is light damage to the right corner flipbacks but all are in place and all seams and the spine are strong and unsplit.
Strict visual grading in daylight and directly under a halogen desk lamp & audibly at volume on high-end audio equipment
