THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'

UK 1963 1st PRESSING *BLACK & GOLD* LABEL MONO LP

**NEAR MINT, INVESTMENT GRADE DISC**

This is my best ever disc of this 1963 mono 1st pressing on the UK black & gold Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both labels bear the incorrect 'Dick James Mus.' publishing credits for songs 1 & 2 on side 1 and 4 & 6 on side 2.
A 'MT' tax/price code is visible on the side 1 label.

Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper numbers: 1/T & 1/GD

Housed in a correct, early front laminated, tri-flipback 'E.J. Day' printed mono cover
The 'Angus McBean' credit is positioned in the extreme lower right corner.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve

Also present is the original plastic cover from Brian Epstein's 'NEMS' record store in Liverpool.

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: NEAR MINT

A perfect set with no spindle marks, touch-up, writing or missing paper.

Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS

This extremely well-looked after & barely played copy retains all its deep gloss shine on both surfaces without any groove-whitening from overplay.
The only significant mark on the entire disc is a single light, non-audible/non-feelable 2cm fingernail mark on side 2. Otherwise both surfaces are 'Near Mint' & 'as new'.
Close inspection directly beneath a halogen desk lamp reveals just a few wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no other significant marks or wear.
There are absolutely no furrther marks, wear or any scratches anywhere on this outstanding copy.
Both sides lie 100% flat on both sides with no signs of dishing or warping.

Audio: NEAR MINT

This disc really has just received two or three careful plays on good quality equipment.
Having played it once myself at volume, I am happy to report that it sounds totally 'as new' throughout.
Every track plays with such power and clarity and without any trace of any groovewear distortion or background noise.
Even the easily and frequently damaged inner tracks on each side play without any break-up or wear.
Both run-ins and all bands play silently & without intereference.
This copy is a blue-chip investment and will not disappoint.

Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS

A very respectable example with a clean front panel bearing just a light 4cm scratch (above Paul's head), but no other significant creasing or wear.
There is a 2cm split to the lower right corner but all others display just minor storagewear.
There is a small stain and some light wear to the front opening edge, but no tears or other major faults.
The rear retains a good 'whiteness' with just a few faint marks but no missing paper or writing.
All the delicate flipbacks are intact & in-place with no repairs or missing sections.
There is minor shelfwear to the lower seam but the spine is fully laminated, worded and undamaged.

Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT

Crisp, clean & totally unworn.
