SUPER RARE **DECCA UK CONTRACT PRESSING OF THE BEATLES 1963 DEBUT ALBUM!!**
This is a SUPER SCARCE opportunity to purchase an Original 1963 UK DECCA Contract Pressing for The Beatles DEBUT Album 'Please Please Me' .
This rarity is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with The Parlophone Co Ltd' label rim, With 'Made in Gt Britain' and 'Recording first published 1963' label text.
Please note the distinct indented RIDGE featured on both sides of the record labels, approximately half an inch in from the perimeter edge of the label rim. This record label style is familiar to Decca pressings, however, totally uncharacteristic for EMI. Collectors may be aware that EMI called upon Decca to assist with the pressing of the album, due to the phenomenal demand that they received for The Beatles Debut album! It is understood that Decca pressed just a SMALL BATCH to help out.
The LP comes in its original Poly lined Inner sleeve, and is protected in its original Ernest J Day Laminated Three Flip back Sleeve.
Official Dead Wax Matrix and Stamper Information:
The side 1 matrix is XEX 421-1N/Side 2 matrix: XEX 422-1N. Side 1 stampers: '11'/Side 2 stampers: '14'.
Grading Assessment:
Both sides of the DECCA record labels are in excellent condition – A respectable set of record labels that clean, bright and unfaded, and free from any handwriting, showing some light centre spindle lines to either side. Both sides of the Vinyl disc are in excellent minus condition - the Vinyl is Sharp and free from any scuffs or deep scratches, showing only some light surface hairlines to either side. Both sides of the Ernest J Day sleeve are in excellent condition. The Front panel of the sleeve is is Bright and UNDAMAGED, and the laminate glossy. There is light corner bruising to the bottom two corners, and even milder corner bruising to the top two corners. The spine and edges are FIRM and the wording 'Please Please Me - The Beatles' clearly legible to the Spine edge. The Reverse panel of the sleeve is BRIGHT and CLEAN, with a little creasing only to the top and bottom fold over flaps and mild handling discolouraton to the opening edge.
The Playing Quality:
I was impressed with the Playing Quality of the album that plays extremely well. There are NO skips or Jumps, and just a little light background crackle evident. There is NO dishing or warping evident.

DECCA pressings of any of The Beatles Original UK albums are **RARE**. Obviously, significant to find a Decca Pressing of their Debut Album, Please Please Me. HARDLY SEEN IN STOCK, one for the serious Beatles collector and an overall RESPECTABLE example!
