Album Description/Condition:
This 1963 MONO LP, for THE BEATLES FIRST UK album, on the BLACK and YELLOW Parlophone label, contracted out to Decca Records at the time to cope with the demand for the Beatles debut UK album release.
Both record labels have the ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd’ label rim, ‘Made in Gt Britain’ & recording first published 1963 label text, and the distinctive RIDGED Decca Records labels
Both record label are in Excellent Plus condition. CLEAN labels - NO fading to the silver and yellow printed text, showing only a few centre spindle lines .
The side 1 matrix is: XEX 421-1N and side 2: XEX 422-1N.
Side 1 stampers: 11 and side 2: 14
Both sides of the HEAVY Vinyl Disc are in Excellent condition, both sides of the vinyl still retain their deep gloss finish, showing only a few light NON sounding surface hairlines, and a small scratch on Do You Want to Know a Secret.
Audio Quality:
The LP plays superbly well throughout all of the tracks, a very strong and powerful mono sound quality, a little light background crackle can be heard, also a short light click at the intro of the track, Do You Want to Know a Secret.
The LP comes in an original lined use Emitex Inner bag which is in Excellent condition, with no seam splits, just light creasing.
…And is protected in it’s ORIGINAL Laminated Ernest J.Day & Co Ltd three flip back sleeve, with large 'MONO’ printed to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve.
The sleeve is in Excellent condition, a strong firm very clean and GLOSSY front panel, showing nothing more than mild record indentation and a light crease to the bottom left corner, and corner bumps to all four corners, the reverse panel is clean, showing age discolouration, there is an original 1963 record shop sticker at the top right corner.
An extremely fine condition original 1963 UK DECCA RECORDS Contract Pressing Beatles album now 48 years old.
