To those of you who saw we retracted our recent Beatles MFSL listing... it was because we decided we'd rather sell the collection with the addition of the extra test pressing, described below.

The Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Beatles Collection ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDINGS vinyl set is MINT, UNPLAYED and STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY BOX. This is the Rare US issued, Japanese manufactured, limited edition Mobile Fidelity box set, # 11865, containing 14 half-speed mastered audiophile LPs in custom sleeves, with a 40-page booklet, featuring fantastic full page reproductions of all the original albums' sleeve artwork, plus Geo-Disc, in gold embossed custom library case BC-1.

THIS IS EVEN MORE RARE THAN OTHERS LIKE IT SINCE IT HAS ONLY BEEN TAKEN OUT OF THE ORIGINAL FACTORY BOX 2X AND NEVER PLAYED. I TOOK IT OUT UPON ITS ARRIVAL TO CONFIRM ITS CONDITION AND TO MAKE SURE THAT IT WAS NOT DAMAGED IN ANY WAY AND THE SECOND TIME TO TAKE THESE PICTURES!!

When I opened it the first time back in 1982, I also placed clear plastic sleeves on the covers as well as the book and placed everything back in the shipping box as I had found it. I am the original owner, I was a dealer for Mobile Fidelity at the time of release here in Columbus. I guarantee that this collection HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED. Collections of this condition are VERY rarely seen on Ebay and, more than likely, not too many exist in the original box.

This is my only copy of this collection.

For those of you who have this MFSL boxed set or just know about it, there is an extra slot provided in this box. This was meant for a RARITIES collection that was supposed to come out the following year (1983) but never did!

However, we are offering a true Raritity with this particular collection - and have placed it in the open slot...

It is an extremely rare TEST PRESSING by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs of The Beatles LP Rubber Soul. The MFSL matrix number for this is 1-106 A1/B1.


This test pressing was produced during the mastering process for the release of "The Beatles Complete Collection" audiophile box set.


This test pressing was never released to the public by Mobile Fidelity. I received it as a thank-you from Mobile Fidelity for having sold more copies of the MFSL Beatles Collection than any other dealer outlet.


I'm not sure if it's the same mix as the MFSL record for Rubber Soul that was released to the public in 1984, because I have NEVER played it. Although most likely not.


This test pressing was issued in a plain white LP cover with hand-written information on the top upper right hand side of the front cover. See Photo. Also see photo for a close-up of the label.


Most collectors consider the earlier pressings of any vinyl album to be of higher quality. The stamper plates that produce the vinyl albums are fresher early on in the stamping process than they are later down the line. So, any early pressings by any manufacturer are most desirable.


I have almost never seen a Mobile Fidelity test pressing offered on eBay by any artist. Let alone this classic Beatles LP.


Needless to say, it is EXTREMELY RARE.


Condition is MINT - PERFECT - UNPLAYED.
