1970 UK *BOX SET* (PXS 1)
**SUPERB EXAMPLE**
This rare UK box set, designed by John Kosh, comes complete with: outer slip-case, both inner trays, LP and exclusive softback book showing candid colour and black and white pictures by Ethan A. Russell of The Beatles during filming and recording.
The 'PXS 1' catalogue number did not appear anywhere on the package, it was just used for ordering purposes.
This is an totally 'un-restored' example. No black ink or adhesive substance has been applied to any component.
Outer Slipcase: EXCELLENT PLUS
Opened only a few times, this is an oustanding example with very little wear and no significant damage anywhere.
The laminate is clean, unscratched & undamaged front & rear. Apart from just a few small wrinkles towards the edges there is little to fault.
Both upper & lower edges are unworn and the delicate edges are sharp & clean with no tears or feathering.
Outer: EXCELLENT PLUS
Strong & perfectly in-shape with just a few light creases to one flap, but still with fine square, unrubbed edges.
Ther rear shows just minor corner bruising and a few faint fingermarks but no other wear.
Inner: EXCELLENT PLUS
Intact & in-shape, with just two extremely small tears to two corners where the book sat.
All edges are clean, sharp and square with no other damage whatsoever.
Book: EXCELLENT PLUS
High-gloss, uncreased cover with just slight handling wear to the front edge & black frontispiece but no loose, damaged or missing pages.
The top & bottom of the spine have a hint or storage wear but is 'uncracked' & unmarked.
This copy has printed credits on page 8.
LP
This disc is on the dark green Apple label: PCS 7096 with the 'Apple Records..' rim text.
It is housed in a fully laminated, 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with the RED Apple logo on the reverse.
Comlete with original white 'Patent No. 1,125,555' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 773-2U & YEX 774-2U
Stamper numbers: 1/RM & 1/PD
NEAR MINT
Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces are MINT viewed in natural light and bear just a few wispy paper hairlines when viewed directly under a halogen desk lamp.
Otherwise this is a pristine disc with no other marks or any scratches to either side.
Quality, thick, sharp-edged vinyl which lies 100% flat on both sides with no dishing or warping.
Audio: NEAR MINT
Hardly played, this is a wonderful warm & clear sounding disc with no trace of crackle or groovewear distortion in either channel or on any track.
Both run-ins & all bands play silently without any interference - really as good as new.
Cover: NEAR MINT
Extremely clean & glossy example with just some light wear to the rear opening edge but this cover has been rarely handled.
The corners are clean & sharp corners and there are no 'thumbanails' or any other creasing anywhere.
All discs are carefully play graded in their entirety on a Rega P9 deck with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt 'A' cartridge.
