READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP Hey Jude Apple 1975 UNDOCUMENTED Scrolling All Rights, NM!
All copies of the scrolling “All Rights Reserved” run out of Jacksonville are hard enough to find. Their secondary characteristic that you can verify by checking copies in your own collection is that the disclaimer doesn’t appear anywhere on the Side 2 label.
Well, it does on this copy. And by the way, this is NOT an LA label with the disclaimer pressed onto Side 2. Collectors know that LA Side 2 labels are bright, have flat, textured labels and are resistant to spindle marks. This label is 100% consistent with Jacksonville Side 2 labels. It is glossy, has darker reddish tones and has the distinctive reflective outer ring surrounding the Apple graphic.
And it’s the only copy I’ve ever seen, that has the disclaimer on Side 2.
Vinyl--- NM/NM. I don’t use that grading unless the vinyl looks as though it were just pressed. This copy is one such example. You won’t find the first beginnings of an angel hairline on either side!
Plates--- F7/Z16. Machine-stamped letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.
Cover--- EX. Collectors know that the back cover is subject to moderate to heavy ringwear. This back cover has just the lightest amount of ringwear. Front cover looks brand new. So do the top and bottom seams. The only problematic area is the spine, which has crackled slick and a small tic of missing slick. NO SEAM SPLITS, THOUGH. Very nice cover!
Labels--- EX/EX. Both labels are nearly new-looking. But each side has just a few spindle marks that are extremely light.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG. Generic white inner sleeve with die-cut hole for the labels to show is present. Jacksonville sometimes used those thicker paper stock sleeves with the thumb tab, which is what this one is. Would be an Excellent sleeve, except that the bottom seam has a 3-inch split.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: N/A
This is the copy that is featured in my two-volume set of American Beatles LP’s on flash drive, available this Christmas season!
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
