The Beatles –Help!– Genuine 1965 UK 1st pressing in mono on the yellow & black Parlophone label and  ‘Sold in UK…’ label text, catalogue number PMC 1255 dating to the original release date of August 6th 1965.

 

 

Matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2N (Please note – 1N was not used on any mono 1st press Help! issue)

Stamper codes: 4/GTP & 2,9/PMD

CONDITION

Disc

Visual: EXC+ to MINT-

This disc retains its original rainbow sheen and appears mint in strong daylight. The vinyl appears unmarked and it’s only under closer inspection under halogen light that you can see light ultra faint whispy sleeve removal marks. The disc lies 100% flat on the turntable. The disc grades on or around near MINT.

Audio: MINT-

A stunning audiophile copy. The litmus test to this album are the easily damaged tracks Ticket to Ride, Dizzy Miss Lizzy and Michelle, all these track are undamaged and distortion free. Michelle is free from any surface and is one of the finest audio versions I have heard on any copy. Virtually all gaps are silent. A great audio experience of this classic Beatles album. There are no pops or ticks and the record does not jump or stick.

Labels: EXC+ to MINT-

A great set of labels which are fresh and unworn showing very few light spindle marks. There is no writing or personisation to either label. The KT tax code appears on side 2.

Cover

EXCELLENT+

An original 1965 1st issue patents pending Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Very little to fault. There are some small thumbnail creases to the front panel but overall it is impressive. The front panel retains its original laminate sheen and is unyellowed. There rear panel is in superb condition and has no writing, marks or personalization to any area. All flipbacks are strong and intact. The spine is in superb condition with the writing clearly visible. Grades excellent+.

Inner-sleeve Excellent +

Original and correct Emitex rice paper inner.
