READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP 1967 Sgt. Pepper First Pressing NM Cover, Insert AND Vinyl! STUNNING LP!

Not kidding.  This copy looks exactly like you had taken a plane back to 1967, strolled into McCrory’s Dept. Store, bought this copy and have just pulled the shrinkwrap off.

**If you don’t know how to properly handle vinyl, please send the link to this auction to someone who does.  And if you do know how to properly handle vinyl, do yourself a favor and clip your nails before handling.**

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  That’s me being conservative.  Other sellers would use a NM grade.  But there are one or two very light lines and manufacturer’s defects per side, in the “now-you-see-it, now-you-don’t” category.  They appear under normal room lighting, but they vanish when tilted away from your light source.  Otherwise, vinyl gleams like new.

Plates--- B2/B2.  Machine-stamped triangle with the letters, “IAM” inside it makes this copy pressed by Scranton.  Definitely very early plates.

Cover--- NM.  Colors are all 1967-bold and psychedelic.  Absolutely NO RINGWEAR, NO DIRTWEAR.  Album cover lies perfectly flat, NO fraying or yellowing at the mouth.  NO SPLIT SEAMS, not even almost.  All seams and spine are muscular-strong and brand new-looking, just as they looked when they were printed!

**First pressing covers are recognizable because of the back cover, bottom right.  The 1967 NEMS copyright information is missing, which was added from the second pressing onward!  See compere photo.

**Also, the small Capitol logo appears on the spine at the bottom, next to the catalogue number.  The logo was deleted in the 1970’s.

Gatefold--- NM.  Colors are all 1967-bold and psychedelic.  Absolutely NO RINGWEAR, NO DIRTWEAR.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Insert--- NM.  Have you ever seen an insert that has never browned even a little bit over 57 years??  Lies perfectly flat, NO FINGER DIVOTS. That’s how this one looks. 

Labels--- NM/NM.  Label on Side 1 lists the second track as “WITH a Little Help From my Friends,” as well as having the cobalt blue domes and perimeter text, making this the second label variation, first pressing.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX.  Have you ever seen a red gradient sleeve that has never browned even a little bit over 57 years??  That’s how this one looks.  Some wrinkling, due to improper insertion at the factory.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A.

This copy is absolutely top-tier collector’s grade, and it should be treated as such during storage for the long haul.  Get this copy for your Beatles collector, only if they’re REALLY nice to you!  Otherwise, you may want to keep this one for yourself.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
