READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP 1966 Revolver MONO First Pressing Scranton, Beautiful Excellent Vinyl!
Very glossy MONO copy of the Revolver album! Not a NM copy, but still impressive enough to make you swear quietly under your breath. Some tracks, especially “Eleanor Rigby,” “Yellow Submarine” and “Tomorrow Never Knows” are slightly to moderately different than the stereo mixes.
And the very first thing you’ll notice from the first notes of “Taxman” is that this MONO mix is decidedly punchier, with a loud cut.
Vinyl--- VG++/VG++. This copy is just on this side of the fence of being an Excellent copy. And in fact, some sellers would grade this one as Excellent. However; each side has less than half a dozen small infractions that are not feelable with the fingertip. Album shines an easy 90 to 95% brand new glossy on each side.
Plates--- F1/G6. Machine-stamped triangle with the letters, “IAM” inside it makes this copy pressed by Scranton.
Cover--- VG++. Beautiful cover. Front has just a suggestion of yellowing in John’s hair, otherwise the front cover is pretty snow white. Bottom right corner has a half-inch split and a small amount of slick loss. Top left corner has a jagged hole punch that carries through to the back right corner.
Back cover has a light amount of ringwear at the top, and some dots of white throughout. Light crease to one top corner that carries over to the back.
Overall, this cover presents very well.
Labels--- NM/NM. Both MONO labels look like they were just printed this morning before you even got up. NO SPINDLE MARKS.
Inner Sleeve--- VG. Original yellow Capitol inner sleeve is present. One side seam and the bottom seam each have splits about 3 or 4 inches long. Jagged hole punch is present at the bottom corner. This is the original inner sleeve.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: None
**Unless you’re looking for a spot-on NM copy as your keeper, this one will serve as yours, and serve you very well.**
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
