READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP 1966 Revolver First Pressing STEREO Still in Shrink, Early Plates EX/VG+!
Very nice copy, although not a Near Mint one. This one’s still good enough to be your keeper!
Vinyl--- EX/VG+. Side 1 looks pretty close to brand new. Grooves on both sides have only very slightly dulled. Side 2 has 3 or 4 very light lines that cannot be felt with the fingertip, otherwise the side shines as nicely as Side 1.
Plates--- A5/B6. Side 1 definitely has a first-day issue plate, Side 2 still has a very early one. This pressing went through to the “W” series.
Cover--- EX. Shrink did a very nice job protecting the cover over the decades. Small amount of shrink missing from the back cover, not much.
The only damage I see to the cover is that there is some yellowing down the mouth, where the shrink wasn’t covering the cover. Bottom right corner has a push-in, as well as some missing slick about half a centimeter. Very minor. Otherwise, this is a beautiful cover. Still plenty white on the front. NO SEAM SPLITS.
Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover. One is above John’s left ear, and the other is due south in George’s right eye.
Labels--- EX/EX. First pressing labels used only the last names for John and Paul in the parenthetical writer’s credits beneath the song titles. Both labels present new upon first glance. But upon close examination, you’ll see small and light spindle marks on both sides.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX. Original yellow Capitol inner sleeve is present. Nice and flat, light record outdent if any, two short and light creases at the top corner from improper insertion at the factory. Sweet inner sleeve.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: None. Not unusual. This is probably a cover that was printed for one of the consignment plants, used by Capitol. Consignment covers most often had no RIAA.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
