READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP 1966 Revolver First Pressing Columbia Consignment FULL NAME CREDITS, NM!

**Columbia vinyl and pressing plates produce a much smoother, slightly quieter playback experience than Capitol plates do. Because the playback is quieter, there are more elements in the music that are permitted to pop through the mix, because the midrange isn’t drowned out by the highs and lows.

**Columbia Records was consigned to press copies of Revolver late in the first run, early into Capitol’s second run.  That makes this copy first pressings for Columbia either way.

**The first pressing labels that use John’s and Paul’s full names in the songwriting credits beneath the song titles are VERY hard to find until you get to the “Subsidiary of…” pressing from 1968/1969.  From that point forward, all pressings used the full names.

Think these are easy to find? Check your copies.

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  Both sides shine very close to brand new.  Maybe a stray angel hair if you have the patience to fine-tooth comb both sides.  Stunning copy.

Plates--- X10/W7.  Those are Capitol’s plate numbers.  54 on each side is Columbia’s pressing plant designation out of Pitman, NJ.  No Capitol insignias appear in the dead wax, because this copy was not pressed by Capitol.

Cover--- VG+.  Front cover is still mostly snow white.  Just a light amount of yellowing around the mouth.  Top front edge has a little ink bleed that resembles a cut or tear, but it’s ink.  Small amount of dirtwear on John’s nose, maybe some sticker residue.

Back cover is flat matte black with NO dirtwear.  Light crease at the bottom of the cover, both sides.  Top and bottom seams have some fraying from shelfwear.  Spine is weakening.  Has a moderate amount of crackling slick, but NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- EX/EX.  Side 1 label has a little spot of something on it that feels like it can be removed, but I won’t try.  Also has tiny scratches.  Side 2 label looks brand newly-printed.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Original Yellow Capitol inner sleeve is present.  Sleeve presents as EX, but there is some light wrinkling, barely ANY record outdent.  One side seam is split about one inch.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: None.  Most consignment covers from the 1960’s were sent covers without RIAA numbers, although there are some exceptions when the blank RIAA covers were exhausted.

Gorgeous stunner keeper copy!

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
