1968 UK '2nd' PRESSING 45


Although one of the best selling and easiest to find of all The Beatles' 45s, this late 1968 pressing is arguably the rarest & most difficult to obtain.


This extremely rare copy is a solid centred disc on the black & silver Parlophone label: R 5084

Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text with 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rims.

There is no tax/price code is present in the centre of either label.


Housed in its original green & white 'swirl' Parlophone company cover.

Matrix numbers: 7XCE 17559-1N & 7XCE 17560-1N

Stamper codes: 15/GDG & 19/LA


CONDITION

Disc

Labels: VERY GOOD +

Both are clean bright with light spindle marks to each centre hole. Side 1 label has two tiny flecks of missing paper near the centre, but there no further faults to either.

Visual: VERY GOOD

Both surfaces are clean & bright but display numerous light hairlines under halogen light consistent with frequent play. However, there are no heavy marks or scratches to either side.

Play: VERY GOOD

Despite being played many times there is no major deterioration to the sound quality. There is some moderate background noise on 'This Boy' but no clicks, pops or other major faults.

Sleeve

VERY GOOD +

General storagewear but no major faults.


  • Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
