1965 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
This truely EXCELLENT copy is a UK 1st pressing dating from initial release in August 1965 is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1255
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
A 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with the outlined front mono indicator.
Complete with its 'Use Emitex..' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2
Stamper codes: 4,8/TT & 7/GAP

A clean, bright & unblemished pair with just a small collection of light spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surfaces are extremely clean & retain all of their deep-gloss shines with only a single 1cm surface some light mark visible in strong daylight. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals a number of harmless wispy paper hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal, but no other significant surface marks or wear. Both sides of this heavy copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Play: EXCELLENT
A surprisingly difficult album to find in this audible condition, this copy is definately above the average having received only some careful play on good equipment. My careful playcheck at volume revealed no significant deterioration to the sound quality throughout which was warm and powerful with no signs of any annoying crackle or break up on any track. Apart from two light clicks n the band between tracks 2 & 3 on side 1, the entire album is free from any other such audible faults or distractions.

EXCELLENT +
A super, unworn example which has clearly been correctly stored in a clean, non-smoking environment this past 45 years. The front panel is bright & clean with just three small 'thumbnail' wrinkles towards the opening edge and a few light spine bends but absolutely no other signs of wear. There are tiny shelfwear bruises to the lower corners but no heavy bumps or damage to any and both opening edges are sharp & unworn. The rear panel is pristine and essentially in 'as new' condition with not a single mark or blemish anywhere. All flipbacks are in perfect condition and both seams and the spine are all smooth, unstressed and undamaged.

Clean & crisp with just an inevitable light disc impression but little else to fault.
