This UK STEREO pressing dates from late 1965/early 1966 & is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3071

The labels bear the rarer larger style stereo indicator 1st seen on copies of 'Rubber Soul'.

An asterisk is positioned before the 'I Need You' title, on initial copies, it came after.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the side 1 centre hole.

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse ' printed stereo cover.

Complete with its original 'Use Emitex..' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: VERY GOOD +

Bright & clean but with numerous spindle marks and a trace of centre hole wear to both sides. There is also a small area of rubbing just to the left of the side 2 song-listing.

Visual: VERY GOOD

Both playing surface are extremely clean & glossy with several insignificant light surface marks, but definately nothing deep or feelable. Close & careful inspection directly beneath halogen desk lamp reveals several more surface marks consistent with moderate handling & play, but again, nothing serious. Both sides fo this respectable copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing, with no traces of dishing or warping either side.

Play: VERY GOOD +

Despite frequent careful play, my careful play-check at volume revealed no major deterioration to the sound quality overall. Some playwear is audible as light background on 'Ticket To Ride' and I also found 3 'pops' during 'Act Naturally'. However, apart from that & some light background between tracks there is little else of any significance to report. The entire album is free from any jumps, repeats or other such major faults.

Cover

VERY GOOD

This example displays general handling & storage wear commensurate with its 45 years but no major faults. The front panel is bright & glossy with several small 'thumbnail' wrinkles & slight discolouration to the opening edge but no other significant wear. The rear panel bears some handling blemishes and wear to the opening edge but, as you can see, no writing or missing paper. Both seams & the spine are smooth, unstressed & undamaged.

A very clean & strong example which retains a bright, glossy front laminate bearing just a single wrinkle towards the upper right corner, but no 'thumbnails' or any other significant traces of wear. There is a little shelfwear bruising to the lower corners but no heavy bumps to any. The rear opening edges has a tuch of wear but no tears or feathering to either. The rear panel is clean & bright overall with all flipbacks fully intact & undamaged and no significant blemishes or any writing or missing paper. Both seams are smooth and unstressed & the spine is unworn & fully worded.

Inner-sleeve

VERY GOOD -

Some general handling & storage wear with a few small tears around the centre window but no writing or seam splits.
