THE BEATLES - 'A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'
This early UK 2nd STEREO pressing variant dates from mid-1965 and is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS.3058
This scarce variant has seldom seen combination of 'Parlophone Co. Ltd...' worded label rims & the 'P.1964' symbol.
Both carry the 'Sold in UK..' text with the 'KT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 1 label.
Matrix numbers: YEX 126-1 & YEX 127-1
Stamper codes: 2/OA & 1/AG
Vinyl weight: 144g
Housed within a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with a mid-sized 'stereo' front indicator.
Complete with its original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve.

Labels: EXCELLENT -
This rare set has numerous spindle trails around each centre hole but are otherwise clean & undamaged.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surfaces are clean and are free from any surface marks or scratches in strong daylight although there is some whitening to the groove indicating frequent play. Close inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than a few harmless wispy paper hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal. Both sides of this cherished copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT -
This copy has been played many times but with care and the high-quality of the 4-track stereo mix still shines. My single playcheck at volume detected a touch of playwear distortion on the final two tracks on side 1 and the last one on side 2, but there are no clicks, ticks, pops or any other audible distractions to spoil the enjoyment of this outstanding album.
Cover: EXCELLENT -
A respectable, early example which displays light storage wear but no major faults. The front panel retains an unscratched high-gloss front laminate with just a single faint 'thumbnail' and a few smaller edge/spine wrinkles. There are small bumps to the left corners but both opening edges are sharp and unworn. There is some minor age-toning to the rear panel but it is free from any writing or missing paper.
Both seams & the spine are unstressed and undamaged.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with slight age-toning but no writing, seam splits or tears.
