I’m digging deep into my personal collection of Beatles and Beatles-related vinyl to put up for auction MORE BEATLES PICTURE SLEEVES, MANY IN EXCEPTIONALLY NICE CONDITION. In this auction are the following:

1 Capitol Records Picture Cover & 1 Capitol Records EP 7-inch record   

·       “FOUR BY THE BEATLES” Extended Play (EP) by The Beatles  

·       This is Capitol Records EAP 1-2121.

·       It was issued in May 11, 1964.

·       This EP contains 4 songs. Side 1: “ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN” & “ALL MY LOVING” Side 2: “THIS BOY” & “PLEASE MISTER POSTMAN”.

·       This EP was issued in a cardboard cover entitled “FOUR BY THE BEATLES”.

·       The COVER is in VERY NICE NEAR MINT CONDITION!!!

·       The VINYL is ALSO in NEAR MINT CONDITION!!!

·       The EP format (7-inch record with 2 songs on each side) for Beatles’ records was not common at all in the U.S. In fact, only 3 Beatles’ EPs were commercially released in the U.S. in the 1960s: 2 were issued by Capitol Records and another was issued by Vee Jay Records. (All of these EPs are in my current auctions.)

·       It’s a RARE BEATLES CAPITOL EP IN OUTSTANDING NEAR MINT CONDITION that deserves a place in someone’s vinyl collection!

·       This can definitely be YOUR FINAL UPGRADE if you’re looking for this record!!!

These grading Good+ (G+), Very Good Minus (VG-), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Near Mint Minus or Very Good++ (NM- or VG++), Near Mint (NM), Mint Minus (M-), and Mint (M or MT) to VISUALLY grade the 45s and picture sleeves I auction, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding. If you bid on this item it is understood that you read the entire description, including this added notation, and that you viewed ALL of the images.

On one side of the picture cover there is a slight hint of wear beside Paul’s head and a couple of small flecks/smudges near it. I graded this cover as Near Mint because this is the grade that I believe best matches that grade in Perry Cox’s scale on page 8 of his book I’ve referenced in my auction.

Cox’s Near Mint Minus grade allows for:

·       up to 2 bumped corners

·       a seam split up to ½ inch

·       a few spots of color missing, no larger than a small fleck each one.

I believe this picture cover grades higher than Near Mint Minus because:

·       There are NO bumped corners

·       NO seam splits

·       One spot of color missing (actually only lighter color due to the very light wear) and the small smudge flecks near it
