I've reluctantly decided to part with my Mobile Fidelity Beatles Collection. I am the original owner of this set, having received it as a gift from a dear friend who was a manager at a Wherehouse Records in Santa Monica back in the day. It is one of my most valuable and sentimental treasures and I am ambivalent to let it go, but I've come to the conclusion that something this cool should be thoroughly enjoyed by someone who can not only appreciate it - as I do - but who has the proper equipment to play the albums without causing damage.
Please read carefully:
I have listed the set as "new" since the albums inside have never been played (due primarily to the fact that I've never owned a decent enough turntable and cartridge to justify doing so) and listing the set as "used" would be inaccurate, as it would imply that the albums have been listened to. That said, I would not describe the set itself as being in "mint" condition. The outer box does show some signs of shelf wear, such as a handful of minor dings and tears in the black material covering the box (I have purposely chosen not to try to cover these up with a black marker, as others have done) as well as some minor discoloration to the brass hinges and latch, as the set has moved around with me several times over the last 35 years. But while it hasn't been kept encased in a hermetically sealed vault or glass display case, it has always been protected from the harsh elements such as light, heat and dust.
