READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

By far, the more common set has pink labels, the shade of either calamine lotion or spam.  There were three different colors the labels came in.  Pink is the most common, white are very scarce and the rarest of all, which you never see for sale have aqua/green labels.

For those unfamiliar, these boxed sets were only available for an extremely limited time via TV mail order.  Within a year’s time, Capitol had issued the red and blue albums, along with a Cease and Desist order for these boxes.

90% of the selections were sequenced in alphabetical order to follow the theme of Alpha to Omega.  That alone makes for a very strangely sequenced album.

Vinyl--- All 8 sides are beautiful, and nearly unplayed-looking. Sides 1 through 4 are NM. Side 5 has one short, light scuff that you can’t feel with your fingertip. Side 6 is NM.  Sides 7 and 8 are Excellent, with a few very light lines.

Side 5 has the secret song.  There are 7 songs listed on the label, but 8 songs on that side.

Plates--- Has the matrices, ATRBH-101-1, sequential all the way to 101-8.

Box--- VG.  This is also the scarcer box with the black and white graphics.  Box has general wear all around.  All the corners of the lid have been Scotch tape repaired.

Labels--- NM, all 8 labels.  NOT ONE SPINDLE MARK AMONG ALL 8 SIDES!

Inner Sleeves--- All 4 inner sleeves are generic white, all in NM condition.  No splits.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
