THE BEATLES - 'ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE'/'BABY, YOU'RE A RICH MAN'

1967 UK *DEMONSTRATION* 45


This extremely rare disc is a 100% genuine DEMONSTRATION 45 which pre-dates slightly its official July 1967 release date. These specially pressed discs were distributed in a very limited quantity to DJs and press persons only. Very few genuine examples survive today, especially in this condition.


This NEAR MINT example bears GENUINE green demo labels with a large white 'A' on the 'Lady Madonna' label: R 5620

Both labels also carry the wording 'DEMONSTRATION RECORD - NOT FOR SALE' and 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rim texts.

The disc's official release date '7.7.67' is also printed in the centre of each label.

A 'KT' purchase tax code is stamped around the centre of 'All You Need Is Love' label & in both run-outs.


Matrix numbers: 7XCE 18425-1 & 7XCE 18426-2

Stamper codes: 2/GG & 1/GA


The disc is housed within an original 'Miners Make-up' Parlophone company sleeve.

A superb clean & unblemished pair with just a handful of faint spindle marks around each unworn centre hole.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Immaculate, deep-gloss playing surfaces which are perfectly clean & glossy and free from any surface marks or scratches to either side. There is a faint circumferal mark which I suspect was made by a cleaning machine in each run-out but no other blemishes or wear - even directly beneath my unforgiving powerful halogen desk lamp. Both sides of this 1st-class disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Play: NEAR MINT

This wonderful copy has clearly received just a handful of careful plays on good equipment as the sound is clear, clean & completely unworn both sides. There is no hint of any groove/play-wear or any background noise anywhere. A tough one to find in better condition.

Clean & flat with a few light storage wrinkles but no major faults.
