READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
So with that said…
Beatles ’65 LP 1975 Apple TOUGHEST “All Rights Reserved” Variation in Shrink VG+!
**NOTE: This is the copy that is featured in my new book on flash drive, “Demystifying the Beatles.”
It’s not that you don’t see this label variation everyday, it’s that you don’t see it ANY day. It’s also the only title in the Beatles Apple catalogue that has this variation.
The disclaimer runs vertically up the left side of the label, rather than at the top or bottom on Side 1. Side 2 has the disclaimer on five lines in the upper right shoulder of the sliced Apple.
Vinyl--- VG+. Both sides have fine lines only. More than I usually accept for sale, this label is so scarce that you’re not going to see another anytime soon. Both sides still retain 90% new shine!
Plates--- F16/F16. Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.
Cover--- EX. All of this cover’s very minor damage is concentrated at the mouth.
**Top and bottom corners of the mouth have very light push-ins. The top one has a 1/8-inch split.
**Back cover has light yellowing down the mouth only. **There is also some light residue on the back cover. But a gentle pull of the shrinkwrap reveals that it’s restricted to the shrinkwrap only, and is not on the back cover at all.
**Shrinkwrap has a 4-inch split at the top.
**Besides those notes, this cover is muscular-strong and full-colored bold. **
Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover at the top. One is in the title, “I’ll Be Back,” and the other one is in the title, “Everybody’s Trying to Be My Baby,” because it just HAS to be in the longest title for me to have to type out.
Labels--- EX/EX. Both sides have light spindle marks. Otherwise, they look brand new.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG+. Generic white inner sleeve with die-cut hole for the labels to show is present. Yellowed, but NO SPLIT SEAMS.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: 18
If your Beatles collector is into rare label variations, I will be willing to bet you they’ve never heard of this one before! An excellent Christmas gift!
(NOTE:) Be sure to have a look at my new book on flash drive, “Demystifying The Beatles,” on sale now! Endorsed by Perry Cox, this flash drive contains the most extensive database created so far, of American Beatles album labels, many of whom I guarantee the most seasoned collectors have never seen!)
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
