Beatles 45 Ticket to Ride 1965 SCARCE Rockaway In-House Labels!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
The single-most elusive first pressing Ticket to Ride label is this one. Pressed by RCA Records in Rockaway, NJ, they printed up their own Capitol labels, which look completely different to both Capitol’s Los Angeles and Scranton labels.
This copy is a very good starter. And then once you’ve won this, count how long it took you to find your keeper!
Too rare.
Vinyl: VG/VG. Both sides have a moderate amount of light scratches only, none of which are feelable. Still about 75% original shine.
Plates: F1/F3. Machine-stamped letter “R” in the dead waxes on both sides makes this copy pressed by RCA.
Labels: VG+/VG+. In all fairness, both labels would have graded an easy EX/EX, except that someone saw fit to write very tiny numbers at the tops of each label above the song title. See photos.
Sleeve: VG+. Company Capitol sleeve is present with NO SEAM SPLITS. However; there is a tiny number 2 written on one side.
Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
