THE BEATLES

"LOVE ME DO"

RARE 2nd PRESSING

LOOK AT THE MOTHERS/STAMPERS

Here we have the very first official release by the BEATLES under their EMI label. This was FIRST recorded recording with Ringo on drums, on the 4th of September 1962. It was a week later, when attempting another recording, Ringo was left to give the maracas a shake on "PS I Love You" and tambourine on "Love Me Do." The recordings with Ringo are therefore identified by the -1N/-1N matrix, whilst the Andy White recording has the suffix of -2N/-2N. It is strange, however, EMI decided to relese the Ringo version before the re-worked (and so called improved..?) Andy White version....couldn't have been much of an improvement afterall.

Release date was the 5th of October 1962.

Respective positions in the various charts back then were:

Disc Weekly: 24

Melody Maker: 21

New Musical Express: 27

New Record Mirror: 17

Record Retailer: 17

The Vinyl: Barely played! Lovely sheen with only 1 or two incredibly light marks. The only down side is a small warp. She plays through without a problem but you can hear the warp in the background as well as some dust in the grooves-which would be easily removed.

I think this copy, due to it's flawless condition (apart from the warp) would make a superb display piece.

The Labels: Only a few incredibly light traces of spindle marks.

"The Parlophone Co....." in Upper and Lower case-Marking it as the true rarer second press.

No 'Sold in...' text.

"KT" tax code to side two.

Gorgeously clear and very much displayable!

The Sleeve: Original and correct Parlophone green sleeve, with 6'- to 50'- EMI Record Tokens to the back. Tad dirty to the back but all original and without writing.
