Description
Riverside RLP 12-645, “Minstrel of the Appalachians” with Bascom Lamar Lunsford, vocals and banjo, with Freda English; from 1956. The original DG white-label vinyl plays at VG++ on Side A with almost no background static; Side B has more static and is closer to VG or VG+. The heavy laminated jacket has a solid spine without wear, but the lower seam is split more than halfway across, and the top seam has almost 3” of split as well; the jacket back is lightly soiled and age-toned. Songs are “Poor Jesse James”, “Go to Italy”, “The Merry Golden Tree”, “I Shall Not Be Moved”, “The Derby Ram”, “The Old Man from the North Country”, “The Miller’s Will”, “Sundown”, “Fly Around My Blue-Eyed Girl”, “Black Jack Davy”, “Weeping Willow Tree”, “Swing Low Sweet Chariot”, “The Sailor on the Deep Blue Sea”, and “John Henry”. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $14.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail for $11.75 extra is strongly recommended. (Last year, a package to the Netherlands was lost in shipment, resulting in disappointment on both sides.) Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than three LPs will be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped.
