Description
TITLE/ARTIST: This ultra rare and highly collectible four (4) song EP JACKET ONLY, is on the original, Decca Label, and is self-entitled "That'll Be The Day" (after his huge hit song), by the highly collectible and successful 1950's singer/songwriter, Buddy Holly . This really rare and original 1st EP jacket was released way back in 1958, is in absolutely fantastic condition, and DOES have the LINER NOTES on the backside, thereby authenticating it's very 1st press status---not to mention the very distinguished and attractive picture of Holly on the front side. This version is extremely, extremely rare, and gives you a great opportunity to purchase one of those truly collectible pieces from the early days of RnR!! I also have, or will have, many other EPs (with their records) for sale in current, and/or upcoming auctions, by artists like Gene Vincent, Fabian, Ray Charles, Elvis and many others---but, please read the item description and see the pics below with regards to this piece.
JACKET INFO: This EP jacket (ED 2575) is just about perfect---really. A couple of extremely small scuffs in two of the corners is all I can find to mention at all. Otherwise, I see nothing wrong with this jacket at all. It is very, very clean and nice---espiecally for it's age and what it is. In my opinion, this very rare picture sleeve/jacket is in truly excellent condition---but, again, please see the pictures below and judge for yourself.
INTERESTING FACTS: You just don't see this original and rare 1958 Buddy Holly EP jacket out there at all---nor many other of these early RnR EPs I have listed---espiecally in this kind of outstanding condition. I kept this EP jacket for years thinking I'd go find the vinyl part to make this a "marriage", but I never really pursued that goal too adamantly.
I will have many other rare and collectible 1950-60's EP's, 45's, PS's, and LP's to list in my current and upcoming auctions. So, please continue to check out this site.
