BUCKWHEAT-MANKATO, MN-RATHSKELLER RECORDS-1970-GESTURES
Here is one of the records we have had in my collection for many years that my brother gave me. It is from Mankato, Minnesota’s Buckwheat who were the house band for Mankato’s legendary Rathskeller Bar. My brother told me is was a strip bar that had bands Fri & Sat nights. He said Buckwheat was only together less than a year and they pressed only 200 of these records. That is why it is never out there. He used to work with the band and he gave me this info. years ago. There is no # for the record and the two sides are “Rockin' And Rollin’/Honky Tonk Woman.” The one side is a Stones cover. The band featured former Gestures (“Run Run Run”) guitarist, Gus Dewey. This is all that he shared with me. The labels at VG+/NM and the vinyl is VG+ with light scuffs. It plays well. I tried to scan the labels. That was a little tough. This is a set sale for $63.99
