One of the rarest singles in the world!!!!
The machine stamped matrix numbers for side A - APPLE 8 A 2
Matrix numbers for side B - APPLE 8 B 2
There are no stamper codes on either side of the runout grooves which me brings me to the conclusion that this is a contract pressing.
The other signs that indicate this is a contract pressing are the ridges on the labels and the weight of the vinyl it as got to be heaviest 7 inch single I've ever held... it's like an acetate.
Complete with the original black glossy apple sleeve.
This came from the collection of Pete shotton original member of the quarry men and friend of john lennon.
A few of his items were put in bonhams auction house in 2005 where this was bought. The collection also included a number 8 white album, acetates and I'm only sleeping manuscript.
The only way this single ever seems to come on to the open market is from the beatles inner circle because it was never released due to the explicit content throughout the song.
Both sides of the vinyl visually are graded as excellent plus condition, graded in very strong light......Hardly looks to have been played
The sound quality is excellent it plays free from skips,jumps or any distortion.
Both the labels are clean and are free from scuffs,handwriting,stains etc and are graded as excellent condition.
Hardly ever comes up for sale let alone in nice condition like this.
