HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CLEO; LOVE, STEPHEN (N.B.: “STEPHEN” IS STEPHEN FRIEDLAND, A/K/A BRUTE FORCE):

·       This autographed copy is of extraordinary historical importance: it puts to rest, once and for all, any notion that the album was released in 1971 as most discographies claim. This is Brute Force’s hideously rare LP on the Tokens' proprietary label (BT Puppy). Cult wacko's follow-up to his I, Brute Force: Confections of Love LP on Columbia. This one features Brutus alone on voice & piano live in the studio. The highlight is the immortal ballad King of Fuh. There was a 7" version of this released on Apple which is one of the rarest releases on that label. Other bright moments here include Sufferin' Surfer, The World Is Filled With So Much Bullsh!t and Topics. The number of known copies of this record can be counted on one hand (a slight poetic license).

Here’s what UK’s MOJO magazine wrote in 1996 about this LP: "Brute Force was the guy who sold the Beatles the idea of releasing his song The King of Fuh on Apple. Said Derek Taylor: “George had met him somewhere. Brute had written a difficult song called The King Of Fuh and I gave him and Mrs. Force something to drink while we listened to this amazingly rude song about the “Fuh King” who did this and the Fuh King who did that, wondering how we would ever get EMI to relase such a work. They didn't, in fact. Offensive. So it was, though Mr. and Mrs. Force were polite enough. He was a man of great physical strength having solo swum the Bering Straits between the USA and the USSR, but APPLE pressed it privately; copies now retail for over £350. In New York, Brute Force worked on this album, tracks including King Fuh and The World Is Filled With So Much Bull S%!t. Goldmine mag said no copy surfaced in the US. Eventually, a copy turned up at Notting Hill's Music and Video shop. Owned by Lord Lucan?” end quote

Well, folks, this is it. Probably THE rarest album we have offered in almost 10 years on eBay. So rare is the album that even MOJO magazine (an otherwise perfectly credible source) claims that no copies have ever surfaced!!! (which, of course, is not true, as the copy we are offering here can readily prove). Finding a still sealed original copy?!?! Forget it – not even a HOPE!!! This is the first, the last and the only you will EVER see!

If you are bidding on this album, may the (BRUTE) FORCE be with you!.

·                               CONDITION:

·                               RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)            THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID)

(b)            The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)             Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
