It would be fair to say that North Wilkesboro-based band Brief Encounter never quite hit the commercial heights of some of their peers with the soul, funk and disco scenes. Nevertheless, their various albums and singles remain sought-after items amongst collectors. This tasty seven-inch single gives new life to "Human", a track that originally appeared as a B-side to 1977 single "Total Satisfaction". The A-side revision comes from Japanese DJ/producer Ryuhei The Man, who gives the cut a nip and tuck while boosting the sound to make it a little warmer and heavier. His take is definitely more dancefloor-friendly than the admittedly gorgeous original version, which drifts along sweetly on the flip.
