そりゃ確かに亜流JBといわれればそれまでです。ジャケットだってJB以上にJBしちゃってるし、タイトル曲の "Funky Superfly" や "Soul Brother Party" だって、JB以上に「JBファンク」しちゃってるのですから。しかもバラードにいたっては、"Morning Of Love"、"Teach Me" は、JBの "Man's Man's Man's World"、"Try Me" の替え歌？って思わず言いたくなるくらい。でも、これがJBファンには堪らないのです！確かにバックの演奏に、B級っぽさこそ感じるものの、それを除けば、JBのベスト・アルバム並みの楽しみ方ができるのですから。より円熟味を増したセカンド・アルバム（RR 909）も良いですが、まずは本作を聴いていただきたい。
