Description

1962 Columbia Records CS 8579, this is an original US stereo pressing of the classic self titled album from Bob Dylan. This pressing has the "Produced by John Hammond" notation on the back cover, while the record has the original "6 Eye" labels with "Bob Dylan" printed on one line and one song title printed above the spindle hole on both sides. A side run out vinyl has the matrix number stamp of XSM-55622-1B, while the B side matrix stamp is XSM-55622-1A. Cover grades VG+, showing some very minor rubbing/handling; a yellow piece of tape affixed to the upper left corner by the original owner for cataloging purposes downgrades it from NM/Excellent to VG+. LP grades a shiny VG+; there are some surface/sleeve lines on either side. There is one small mark at the beginning of track 2 on the B side ("Baby, Let Me Follow You Down") that ticks for a few rotations; otherwise, playback is solid with some minor background crackle at times, and I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable listen. Labels are crisp with no spindle wear. LP is housed in a polylined Mo-Fi sleeve to protect it, as I replaced the original polybag sleeve it had been stored in for almost 60 years. Free shipping within the United States; sorry, no international addresses on this item. Thanks for looking and good luck!
