BOB DYLAN - SELF PORTRAIT – 360 Sound “2 Eye” Label - Columbia C2X-30050. Discs (2) are Near Mint and VG++; Matrices read: XSM-153504-1B; 153505-1B; 153506-1D; and 153507-1B; Sleeve is VG++ (Minor edge and surface wear, 1/8” seam split upper right corner).
Among the lesser known pressing and printing anomalies in the oeuvre of Bob Dylan’s American releases is this odd label pressing of Self Portrait. For reasons only surmised, a small batch of this LP release was pressed with the previously utilized Columbia “2 Eye” label indicating “360 Sound Stereo.” Sources indicate that a Midwestern pressing plant may have used up remaining 360 Sound labels, even though Columbia had, with this release, inaugurated its new Columbia Border label for all pressings beginning in 1970. Some of these labels also featured among its titles, one word in Title Case with the rest of the title in UPPERCASE. The Title “I FORGOT MORE THAN YOU’LL EVER Know” shows a clear printing error with the “Know” of the title shifting from the upper case lettering of the rest of the title down to title case.
An oddity that only die-hard Dylan collectors know about, it is nonetheless a bona fide rarity. This is a very hard to find rare label, and one used by mistake instead of the new 1970 Columbia "Border" label. Very few of these exist. And most are not in such nice condition as this copy.

All vinyl records from VinylKing46 (eBay’s ORIGINAL VINYLKING) are pre-cleaned and inserted into paper inner sleeves before mailing to Buyer. ALL DISCS ARE PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED ON A VPI RECORD CLEANING MACHINE. Discs are packaged separately from LP sleeve to protect against seam splitting. LP jackets are inserted into mylar outer sleeves and albums are shipped in LP-specific boxes and packed with bubble wrap.
