Great quality field recording on this 1978 British release. Dylan is very talkative throughout the entire night of this final performance of the Earl's Court residency. He introduces a third of the songs, and thanks the audience for their applause each time. He makes reference to a Randy Newman song that was popular at the time called Short People. Because the song was misinterpreted by some intellectually challenged persons as actually being a hate song perpetuated against the vertically challenged, there were radio stations banning its airplay. There was at least one state in the USA that introduced a bill that would have made it illegal to play in the entire state. Dylan pokes fun at the political nonsense after Ballad of a Thin Man by saying that he wrote it 15 years before "Ballad of Short People",.. but, he continues, "this is the song that got me in lots a trouble" to introduce Maggie's Farm.
COVER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH SLIGHT DAMAGE TO THE CORNERS. VINYL IS NEAR MINT.
The image included with the auction is a scan of the actual item but, due to size limitations of the scanner, the edges of the item may have been cropped.
RECORD GRADING POLICY
MINT = like new or near new with only one or two small insignificant defects, a 9 or better on a 1-10 scale
EXCELLENT = Would be Near Mint, except for a couple of light hairlines or scuffs, which do not affect play
VG++ = still a very nice record with all or nearly all of its original gloss but may have a few more light, surface marks, hairlines, needle tracks or the like which should not materially affect play
VG+ = a nice, but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches. It probably plays with a few pops, but has no serious problems.
VG = a well-used record that still should sound OK when played, but may have moderate surface noise, pops, etc.
VG- = a very well-worn record that plays through without skipping, but will do until a better copy comes along.
Good = not actually good at all but probably will play through but with much in the way of surface noise, pops, crackles, etc. Still, will have no cracks, chips or the like
Fair = you’re getting this record just to own but not to play
Poor = the sky’s the limit, generally I will discard a record this bad (and sell the cover, jacket or sleeve alone) unless the label holds some particular interest

PLEASE NOTE: We have set our shipping prices to cover costs on an average basis. You may be charged slightly more - or less - than the actual cost of postage; Priority postage varies according to destination, records and jackets vary in weight, all of which makes it impossible to set an exact "correct" price for all customers, especially internationally. We ship all LP's in new (unused) custom LP mailers. We pack records with filler pads, placing the disc in an inner sleeve outside the cover to prevent seam splitting in transit. Part of our postage fee covers the cost of the mailer and pads (which currently costs us up to a dollar per).
