I am now selling about 90 pct of my collection of 78', LP's and rare books and magazines over the next few months, after 40 years of collecting blues and jazz-records. I have always bought the best copies available of the records in question. And here they are. Other dealers would say mint about many of my records. Well..... I do not use mint few things in this world are perfect. I am very conservative when I grade and I use the grade E+ when the record looks perfect. And now the Herwin label, Bernard Klatzko's label. A very fine series of LP's incl. inserts with lyrics, biographys, photos of adverts and record labels. Herwin 209. 2 LP's in a gatefold cover incl.10 pages insert!! Henry ( "Ragtime Texas" ) Thomas ( 1874 - 1950s? ), COMPLETE recorded works - 1927 to 1929 in chronological order. 23 fine tracks ( blues, reels, gospel ) performed by one of the greatest country blues singers. He accompanied himself with the guitar and the quills, a folk instrument made from cane reeds that sound similar to the quena used by musicians in Peru and Bolivia. Some of his songs are difficult to categorize --- they sound more like precursors to blues than like what is now called "blues". They are, therefore, a rare testimony of the kind of music which preceded the establishment of the blues music in the 19th century. THE TRACKS HAVE BEEN PERFECTLY MASTERED FROM THE BEST COPIES OF THE VERY RARE VOCALION 78 RPM RECORDS!! The vinyls are in a PRISTINE ( E+ ) condition, they have been played once or twice!! The cover has a 2 inch split at the bottom of the frontcover and there are 2 tiny splits in the middle of the gatefold; the cover has some ring/edge-wear. Small writing ( a discography ) on the backcover. The pale reddish color on some of the photos is due ONLY to the bad quality of my camera, the pages are SNOWWHITE!!
