VERTIGO 'SWIRL' LABEL

LAMINATED BOX COVER with EMBOSSED LETTERS

This is a scarce & original 1971  SCANDINAVIAN pressing of  'MASTERS'
These where pressed in smaller quantities than the UK or US versions and where meant for the Norway, Sweden, Denmark  public.
This is an oddity, not only as a Black Sabbath collectable, but as a Vertigo label alternate as well.

In ORIGINAL BOXED/ LAMINATED cover! 

If you've never seen one, it has small 'flap' openings at top & bottom of cover, rather than a side opening like all other covers.

This is the odd part of this oddity: On this pressing, The COVER itself is identical to the UK Box cover ( see photos ) even though there was a Norwegian printed cover ( with slightly different letters & colors ) that was released  later than this version...

The disc & labels are unique only to Norway / Scandinavia.

The label is WHITE w/Black lettering ( the opposite of the UK version of 'Masters' ) and has both a unique matrix number  ( 710 , the country code used for early 'Scandinavian' pressings of Vertigo releases ) 
And 'NCB' labeling below song titles on label. 
(NCB=' Nordic Copyright Bureau'  unique to Scandinavian pressings ) 

This does have the classic VERTIGO SWIRL label on A & B sides & on cover.

The matrix / catalog numbers are:
Side A= 6360 050  A  7p71 F  710
Side B= 6360 050  B  7p71 F  710


The inner sleeve is original Plain white w/ poly lining, but no 'Swirl' design like the UK version.

No Poster was included with the Scandinavian issue.

Condition: 
Disc : EX w/ very slight visual markings that don't effect playability

Cover: Ex w/ a few creases & a few areas where laminate is lifting or creased.  W.O.C.- (Small name written in pen on front  cvr. & inside flap)

The box shaped cover is in great shape for its age & the miles its traveled...these usually dont hold up this well and we now know why the label didn't print many of these boxes!  Even though they are very unique & collectable nowadays.


I bought this LP in Sweden & brought it home to the USA myself years ago... It was owned by a lucky girl named 'Lotta' and she discreetly wrote here name in 2 spots on cover ( one barley noticeable on front cover & one inside of top flap, only visible from the inside )

I am a HUGE Sabbath fan / collector & am just letting go a few dupes form the collection for others.
