Description
ALL MY RECORD LISTINGS COME FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION AND HAVE BEEN WELL LOOKED AFTER. An exception to this statement is this LP which has been much loved and entertained many parties in the 70s!

AUCTIONING: A 1st pressing of: BLACK SABBATH - Paranoid Original 1970 UK Vertigo swirl label 8-track LP, gatefold picture sleeve & original swirl inner bag.
The record, although clean and shiny, has surface marks and background surface noise, but still listenable, and the name of Lee-Barber written on side B label.
It is housed in a fully intact, stained original swirl, poly lined inner bag and a strong card picture gatefold sleeve with strong spine, that is worn round the edges, and has the name Chris faintly written on the front with Chris Lee-Barber on the inside.
Most potential buyers would stop there and move on..BUT; despite my 'unfavourable' description above, this record does has a few favourable things going for it!
IT IS THE EARLY 1ST PRESSING, WITH MATRIX MARKS OF 1Y//1 & 2Y//1
IT HAS A 'LARGE' SPIRAL VERTIGO LOGO ON THE SIDE B LABEL (LATER ONES DO NOT) WITH THE WORD 'VERTIGO' PRINTED AT THE BOTTOM (ALL LATER PRESSINGS HAVE A SMALLER SPIRAL VERTIGO LOGO AND THE WORD VERTIGO PRINTED ABOVE THE SPINDLE HOLE)
IT HAS AN UNINTENDED DIFFERENT GROOVE SPACING TO THAT OF LATER PRESSINGS.
ON SIDE B THERE IS ONLY 2 GAPS BETWEEN THE TRACKS (see main photo), AND, WITH 4 TRACKS ON THIS SIDE THERE SHOULD OF COURSE BE 3 GAPS! THIS WAS AN OBVIOUS MISTAKE AT THE TIME AND WAS QUICKLY CORRECTED - WITH MOST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP HAVING 3 GAPS ON THIS SIDE.
