Description
Here's a rare piece for the Big Star collector.
This is a 45 rpm 7-inch test pressing with three cuts from their second LP "Radio City". This was commercially released as Ardent ADA-2909 in March of 1974.
The cuts are:
"A" side:
Oh My Soul
(This is different from the LP version, it runs about 2:50 and ends just after the second time they sing the line "I'm down on the floor". It was edited to fit the 45 format. Like the LP version, it is in mono.)
"B" side:
Morpha Two (same as LP version)
I'm In Love With a Girl (same as LP version)
Matrix numbers are:
STXS-0819-13, AM-01463-1, -L.NIX- (A side)
STXS-0821-13, AS-01464-1, -L.NIX- (B side)
This is the real deal, not a boot, and not a reissue.
This record is in VG+ condition, it has a light scuff that runs across the A side, but it plays beautifully. The sound is clear and distortion free, played on a Dual 1229 with a Shure V-15 type IV cartridge. There are a few random clicks and pops, but nothing that detracts from the sound. There is some wrinkling of the label on the B side. No warp.
This record has been in my possession (and well cared for) for something like 30 years. I bought it at a record show at a time when I was buying just about anything if it was unusual and cheap! I miss those days.
Now it's time for someone else to enjoy owning it.
