Description
SETTLE IN FOR A LONG RUN OF COLLECTABLE LPs OF VARIOUS MUSICAL STYLES!! This is a reasonably priced original late 1950s-era U.S. pressing of the 1956 Jubilee Records MONO LP titled 'What Is There To Say', with twelve nice jazz vocal tracks from former Dizzy Gillespie band vocalist Betty St. Claire. It is Jubilee Records catalog number LP-1011, thick rigid vinyl deep groove pressing, black Jubilee labels with silver print and the starburst Jubilee logo. I believe the cover artwork used by Jubilee Records on this album was later changed completely, this album appears to bear the original cover artwork. Betty St. Claire is variously accompanied by Eddie Swanson-piano / Barry Galbraith-guitar / Addison Farmer-bass / Herb Lovelle-drums, and Hal McKusick and Billy Byers. Tracks: That Old Black Magic, What Is There To Say, East Of The Sun, Prelude To A Kiss, Out Of Nowhere, I Hadn't Anyone Till You, Almost Like Being In Love, Here Comes Trouble Again, My One And Only Love, Why Try To Change Me Now, Skylark, Give Me The Simple Life. Visual condition of record is a real nice VG++ with a very few very light surface marks which cannot be felt and will not affect play. Record plays with a little light crackly background noise throughout, I believe this is inherent in the pressing. Condition of cover is a mid VG+ with the only real flaws being some age and light mildew discoloration on the white areas of the back cover, some ring and contact wear, and some wear along the edges and on the corners. There are no splits, tears, writing, or stickers. This scarce original mono gem would be an essential choice addition to any jazz vocal collection! Winning bidder pays $3.50 media mail postage or actual priority mail postage within the U.S. I WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE - Uninsured first class international airmail postage to the UK or anyplace in Europe is $14.50 - Please e-mail me for postage rates to other areas outside the U.S. WINNING BIDDER PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH - IT PROBABLY WILL NOT GET HERE! I will give an immediate refund (less shipping) upon return of the LP if winning bidder is dissatisfied for any reason. Good luck!
