Description
Up for auction is a rare original pressing of the Betty Davis album Nasty Gal, originally released in the U.S. on Island Records (ILPS 9329) in 1975:
-Guaranteed original first pressing, NOT reissue or import -Original black Island labels
-Matrix reads:
ILPS9329A JR K-7170 GOL ILPS9329B JR K-7171 GOL -Original inner sleeve w/ lyrics -No UPC/bar code on cover -Vinyl comes in poly audiophile protective sleeve
Note: Many of the copies you'll find of Nasty Gal will have covers with one corner cut because this album initially didn't sell well and was remaindered. Rare to find an uncut original.
Condition: Cover is in very nice condition, generally colorful and very clean. No ring wear on front or back. Some mild, light creases to spine. Light rub to corners, and lower right corner shows a small amount of creasing and paper loss (see photo). Spine is clean, titles are bright and legible. Overall, a very attractive and well-preserved original. Grade: a strong Very Good Plus (VG+)
Vinyl is in great condition, still retains its original shine. No apparent scratches or scuffs, just some faint, superficial signs of having been taken out of paper inner sleeve a few times. A few faint superficial whisper marks in the run out. Labels are clean, no wear or marks around spindle holes. Looks like this record has maybe been played a couple of times at most, but handled with care. Sound quality is excellent when spot tested. Very nice! Grade: Near Mint (NM)

I remove the records with inner sleeves from the covers prior to packing. I sandwich the record between two pieces of cardboard for padding and protection. I also reinforce the corners of the shipping box to protect the corners of the record jacket from damage.
