Description
BEATLES UK – original White Album, numbered Stereo sleeve LP – ‘Racoon’ mispress.
1968 PCS 7067/7068 - apple record labels.
A UK first pressing top loading Stereo copy with a unique serial number of ‘ No. 0581947 ’ featuring:
1. on the rear of the main sleeve, see photo, there is a small sticker that says ‘FONA’, I do not know what this sticker is or what it refers to,
2. on side two of the record label it features the spelling mistake of ‘Racoon’, as it has been incorrectly spelt with one ‘c’ !, this was soon spotted by EMI and corrected but some records with these mispressed labels made their way onto the public market,
3. side two on the label there are the letters ‘ K J T ’ embossed around the spindle hole. The letters KT were removed by EMI in January 1969, it is thought the letter ‘J’ was a final amendment !,
4. labels two and four, the white sides of the apple have a more distinctive brown apple core detail,
5. label one has the text, ‘Sold in UK’ etc printed in the regular font, but on labels two, three and four this line of text is printed in a slimmer font, letter style !,
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the double album gatefold sleeve has a very nice glossy laminate.
