BEATLES UK - PLEASE PLEASE ME, MONO.
1963 PMC 1202 – BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABELS.
A UK LP in 100% original condition, a later pressing that features:
a. A small Mono logo printed on the front of the sleeve,
b. The record labels have the text ‘ Sold in the UK’ etc on, in addition to this there is an additional ‘dot’ to this text on side One only, ie it reads ‘Sold in the .U.K etc’ !
c. one of the matrix letters on side Two have been heavily stamped over, it is believed to read ‘ 2 N ’ for this issue !.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated and there is a SMALL Mono logo on the front. The rear of the sleeve has tri-flipbacks. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained white in colour, all the text on the spine is readable. The rear of the sleeve is very clean for its age, a very strong original sleeve. The are NO tears, pen writing or stains on the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original red and white period EMI advertising sleeve, it is very white in colour and clean, there are NO tears, edge rubbing wear or stains on it. On One side there is a discrete set of initials written in Pen.
THE VINYL: side One is in very good+ condition, side Two is in very good++ condition, it is made from the period, thick, heavy vinyl. The vinyl is very clean, dark and glossy, it fact is has seen very little play.
Matrix nos. are: XEX 421 – 1 N and XEX 422 – 2 N !, the matrix on side 2 is believed to be ‘ 2 N ’ but it is difficult to see the ‘ N ’ ! as it has been heavily stamped over as if a number of correction stamps were made !
Mother/Stampers are: ‘ 1 1 2 R H M ’ and ‘ 0 ! G M ’.
THE AUDIO: side One is very good, side Two is near excellent, I did hear a light ‘tick’ at the end of the track ‘Anna’ and this ‘tick continued into the track ‘Chains’. It plays well and lays flat on the turntable, the record does NOT stick or jump.
THE LABELS: are in very good++ condition, there are the letters ‘ K T ’ embossed around the spindle hole on side Two. As mentioned on the text ‘Sold in the UK’ etc there is an additional ‘ dot ’ to this text on side One only, ie it reads ‘Sold in the .U.K’ etc ! Side One has a small discrete set of initials written in pen on the Yellow ‘ £ ’ sign.
