Description
This lovely rare transitional copy of Rubber Soul by The Beatles from 1965 comes from a well cared for one-owner-from-new collection.
This copy is the rarest UK pressing of Rubber Soul, featuring 1/4 matrices and housed in the rarely seen Ernest J Day flipback cover.
You will be aware that when Rubber Soul was first released on its 'loud cut' 1/1 matrices there was some concern over distortion on playback, with particular regard to Paul's track, Michelle. It has been recently suggested that the album was swiftly remastered with this 4/1 cut being temporarily released to ensure continuity of supply (in other words, as half a loud cut copy!) before the more properly balanced and obviously more ubiquitous 4/4s were produced. Some say that the 4/1 cut, besides being the rarest cut, is the best of both worlds.
And here is a really lovely VG+/VG+ example of this highly sought after version (please see my photos).
Good luck if you are bidding - I package LPs very carefully with discs removed from sleeves to ensure there is no damage caused by knifing during transit.
