1966 Beatles Revolver. 1st UK Pressing. PMC 7009 Mono.

This auction is for one of the rarest and most sought after Beatles LP's worldwide. The seriously rare UK 1st Mono pressing of 'Revolver'. The rarity of this album cannot be over emphasized as it is a true UK 1st pressing with the alternative (ORIGINAL) remix 11 of the track 'Tomorrow Never Knows' It has the following 1st press Mono matrix numbers:

Side 1: XEX 605 - 2, Side 2: XEX 606 - 1

Furthermore this album has a 'FACTORY SAMPLE NOT FOR RESALE' sticker on side 1 of the vinyl. This alone is a highly rare feature. But combined with this being a 606-1 UK 1st press Mono makes this of unbelivably rarity.

There was only a very few copies of the 606-1 version of Revolver pressed as production was stopped on the first morning of the first day of production. Very few of these made it to the stores before the change to the standard issue.

Out of the few copies pressed on the first morning of the first day of production, literally a handful of FACTORY SAMPLE 606-1's would have been produced, with even less finding it's way onto the open market! This is your chance to own such a Beatle tresure.

This iconic release is pressed on the yellow and black Parlophone label with the 'Sold in the UK....' statement and 'Gramophone Co. Ltd.... rim print. It is complete with the 1st issue 'ERNEST J. DAY' front laminated cover and it's original 1966 UK white inner sleeve.

Vinyl Condition: The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+ condition. Some surface marks are evident but nothing major which affects play, only the lightest occasional crackle in some places. A true pleasure to listen to.

Label Condition: Both labels are in VERY GOOD+ condition. Some light spindle marks are evident. NO writing, NO marks, NO stains.

Cover Condition: This is the rarer 'ERNEST J. DAY & CO LTD' thick laminated cover. The cover grades as EXCELLENT-. The only thing preventing this from grading higher is a small area of tape residue on the bottom left back cover. All other areas of the cover are near perfect.

To sum up the rarity of this album you must compare it to the holy grail of Beatles vinyl, the UK 1st press gold and black stereo release of Please Please Me with only approx 900 copies ever pressed. This 606-1 UK 1st press Mono with 'FACTORY SAMPLE' sticker would have been pressed in far far smaller numbers!!!!
