Description
This is an original 1963 first issue Black and Gold Parlophone LP, Please Please Me, PMC 1202. This record has clearly hardly ever been played and is in superb condition. We are not dealers. My wife was given two copies of Please Please Me in 1963; this one, and a second edition with black and silver writing, with Parlophone in yellow. She played the second edition almost exclusively, with this first edition being kept in its cover.
It is obvious even to a non expert that it has hardly been played. Its appearance is virtually as new, the vinyl is bright and shiny, and has a great sheen. The sound quality is superb, with a wonderful resonance and warmth about it, like you are in the studio. No discernable sound wear that you usually hear on a used record. There are just a few very light short scratch marks, hard to see, but which do not impair the sound at all. The labels are again as new; just no wear whatsoever, no marks around the spindle hole, and no writing on them. On side one Dick James Music is shown against 'I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Ask Me Why and Please Please Me,' and on Side 2, 'Do You Want To Know a Secret, and There's a Place.' Side one has XEX 421-1 N and XEX 422-1 N on side two. The centre of side two has the letters ZMT around the spindle hole.
The cover is similarly in great condition; just the odd very small scuff mark at the corners. Very clean, the colour has not dulled. Ernest J Day; PMC 1202, PCS 3042. The inner sleeve is intact and original.
