Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings from all over the UK.  My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, all will be finding new homes in the near future. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist in the world of vintage vinyl - in my opinion, as soon as the record has been taken home from the store it is no longer Mint!!) I hope you enjoy my listings.

You are bidding on one of the all-time best 'Best Of' albums!!! You will not be surprised to see it's by The Beatles. However, what is surprising is that this is the rarest UK Double Red Vinyl 1st pressing!!! Only pressed in the UK in very limited quantities back in 1978. There are two things which make this particular copy ever rarer though, Firstly it has a Stunning Mint intact original round red sticker that was used for only the very initial run of these rare pressings. Most copies of this album you see will not have this rare stickered sleeve!!! Of the few that initially had stickers, many were peeled off etc. and of the ones that remain, most are in terrible condition with damage to the sticker and/or discs.  This one is NOT!!! It is completely Nr Mint!!!! Finding one with an original sticker in this condition today is Impossible! Secondly, I have to mention the overall condition of this record - it is simply stunning!!! Both the sleeve and the 2 red vinyl discs are in stone cold Mint- condition!!! I have never seen an better example of this record and neither will you!!! It was purchased from new, played once only and then archived upright in tough thick polythene sleeve in a damp & smoke free environment for the best part of 28 years!!! This is a museum quality example and like I said it is the best example you will probably ever see of this rare record. Another will not come along in stone cold mint condition so don't miss this opportunity!!!

Before I begin the description, one last thing to be aware of is the pressing date of this record. These were not, as many state, pressed in 1973. Only the original black vinyl was released in 1973!!! The Blue and Red vinyl runs hadn't even been dreamt up then! It wasn't until 1978 (the 30th September 1978 to be exact) that the UK Blue and Red vinyl pressings came into existence, and they were only pressed in tiny numbers as they were aimed at what was thought by Apple corp. executives to be a very niche market at the time, and demand was not anticipated to be high. It wasn't. Of the tiny number pressed, only the very 1st issues off the press were given the round sleeve stickers... You are bidding on one of these; the earliest stickered first pressing of that limited run!!! What's more, please factor in the condition of this record when bidding. It would not be a mere makeweight of a Beatles collection - it would take centre stage! To find this record in this kind of condition is impossible today! From the near mint discs to the stunning 1st issue **Near Mint** Garrod & Lofthouse laminated gatefold sleeve & pristine (unsplit) inner sleeves, this is a definite keepers copy. These are hard to find in the UK anymore, but as a 1978 UK stickered sleeve 1st pressings in **Nr Mint** condition they are impossible to find!!! This record (and its companion piece [Click here] are both very serious investments for the future). There are NO 1st pressings with intact stickers left in this condition today so don't miss this one!!!

As you'd expect, the Cool red Apple Records centre labels are in superb MINT- condition!!! There are NO Tears, NO Scribbles. NO lifting or Bubbling and NO unwanted writing of any kind to the centre labels - they are as close to Mint as it is possible to get!!! Just some light spindle lines and that's it!!!  The gramophone rims containing the all important matrix are also Mint-. The cool 1970's discs are both in beautiful condition!!! Copies of this LP only turn up today completely worn out with lots of scratches and gouges - this one is not!!! These 2 discs have a beautiful shine and have that 'just pressed' look and feel. They are visually stunning to look at and appear to be totally blemish free with just a tiny wisp if a hairline on Side 3 track 2, but this is negligible to say the least. I spent 5 minutes staring at these surfaces before I thought I could make out a hairline!!! As you would expect, it plays superbly with no nasty loud pops, no jumps and no skips, just the occasional low level hiss/crackle which it must be pointed out is typical of ALL RED pressings of this record - it is down to the way these records were pressed and not the condition of this particular record. This record easily grades as Nr Mint even by our own strict grading standards (most would grade as MINT!!!) Both discs will come shipped to you in replacement white inner sleeves to protect the discs and the original coloured inner sleeves during transit. The original inner sleeves will be safely tucked away inside the gatefold sleeve (which will also be fully protected by being housed in a poly outer sleeve to preserve it's pristine glass like laminate sheen and box like shape!!!)

The classic 1st Press Garrod & Lofthouse Laminated Gatefold Sleeve is also in STUNNING NR MINT CONDITION!!! It has NO Seam Wear, NO Seam Splits, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  It is nice and stiff and folds out perfectly to reveal a stunning unblemished PURE WHITE MINT un-laminated inner gatefold!!! The sleeve lies totally FLAT with NONE of the ring wear commonly associated with this sleeve!!! The laminate is absolutely breathtaking!!! The laminate positively glistens!!! It is so crisp shiny and pristine that it almost looks wet!!! Like I said the record was stored in a heavy duty poly outer sleeve upon purchase and it has really paid dividends!!! It has maintained all its original clarity making the colours bold bright and vibrant!!! If I'm being very finicky you can see the tiniest impression of the original price that was written on a tiny sticker (that was cleanly removed upon purchase). This is not a scribble or writing etc. it is just a very faint impression in the laminate in the top right corner that has in no way broken the laminate etc. A very tiny detail but worth mentioning!!! The notoriously fragile 1st press heavy paper red lyric die-cut Inner sleeves are also is STUNNING condition!!! They no nasty scribbles/ writing etc. These ALWAYS suffered serious seam splitting. These inners have NONE, they are both MINT-!!!.  Trust me, this will be the only chance you will have to bid on these rare die-cut inners in Nr Mint condition!!!

The all important sticker is is simply MINT- condition. It is completely flat and intact. I has NOT been peeled at any edge and has not worn or bubbled etc and it has most definitely NOT faded like most that are left today!! A STUNNING MINT example of this very rare sticker! An absolutely essential (and very rare) 1st Press for any Beatles/ Classic Pop fan to to own!!! Don't miss this one as these UK stickered sleeve 1st Press LP's NEVER turn up any more in this kind of condition. And as usual it will go to the highest bidder! Like all my auctions, it has no reserve and a very low start, so once its gone its gone. We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback.
